ACT Policing said the 44-year-old was charged with four offences after allegedly pointing a firearm at a 59-year-old man last week in the inner-north. The man, who police said was not injured, told ACT Policing officers he had shot at his neighbour's house after they had a fight and that the neighbour had received texts about his lost animal. The man was a witness to the alleged incident and was told to write down the licence plate of the car in which the man was travelling. He gave the details of the man's car to police. A search warrant was executed at the man's home on Tuesday after police discovered he had allegedly breached the strict gun laws of the ACT. "ACT Policing officers located the allegedly stolen firearm, a semi-automatic.22 calibre rifle, in the vehicle,'' a police spokesman said. "It is alleged the offender used the rifle to point it at the neighbour and fire one shot towards the neighbour's house.'' The neighbour did not suffer any injury as a result of the alleged incident and there was no shooting. The man was allegedly found to have a number of other weapons in his possession, including an air rifle and knife, and was charged with possessing and using prohibited weapons. He was also charged with pointing a firearm at another person, which was reported to ACT Policing.
